Apart from the obvious formatting options given in some of the configuration menus for components (which are explained in the respective chapters of this manual), SAP Process Mining by Celonis offers powerful formatting functions to adapt the presentation of data to individual taste.

Where Formatting Functions can be used

The fields of applications for formatting functions are very intuitively understandable. Basically, any input field affecting the appearance of analysis components can also be used for formatting functions. These input fields occur in the configuration menus for analyses components and usually can also be used without knowledge about formatting functions by inserting predefined values (how to use these fields without functions can be read in the respective sub-chapters of Configuration of Analysis Components).

Formatting functions can also be used in the formula field of dimensions and aggregations for formatting the content of dimension and aggregation columns. However, since a broad variety of options for formatting is already given in the standard editing menu, formatting functions should only be used if these are not sufficient.
